The Kick-Off Workshop of the newly established DFG Priority Program SPP 1516: "New Frameworks of Rationality" exclusively addresses scientists who are planning to make an application inside the SPP 1516.

Please only register for the workshop when you are planning an application!

In addition to the satellite conference "Mind and Brain Dynamics" and the satellite workshop "Cognitive Anthropology" a third satellite event will be held just after the KogWis from Wednesday Oct. 7h to Friday Oct. 8th:

All three satellite events are free for KogWis participants!

 

Due to the great number of submissions and the extension of the submission deadline not all reviews for the KogWis 2010 are finished, yet. Therefore we have to ask for your patience with the notifications of acceptance.

We expect to receive the remaining reviews within a week and will send out all notifications about next Wednesday, June 9, 2010.

The deadline for submitting papers for KogWis 2010 has been extended by two weeks to Friday, May 14, 2010.

2nd Call for Papers

KogWis2010 – The 10th Biannual Meeting of the German Society for
Cognitive Science
October 3-6, 2010

Call for Papers


This conference addresses all areas of interdisciplinary research in
the Mind and Brain Sciences, including Artificial Intelligence,
Cognitive and Computational Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology,
Human-Computer-Interaction, Linguistics, and Philosophy of Mind.

Contributions from these areas can be submitted for Poster
presentations, Talks, or Symposia, or for Talks at the Doctoral
Symposium, which is a special opportunity for Ph.D students to present
and discuss their ongoing work. Proposals for one- or two-hour
symposia should include a summary of the topic as well as a list of
speakers with presentation titles, and moderator. Symposia that bring
together researchers from a wide range of disciplines to discuss a
common issue are particularly welcome.

Abstracts for Posters, Talks, and contributions to the Doctoral
Symposium should not exceed 2000 characters (including spaces);
abstracts for Symposia should not exceed 6000 characters (including
spaces). Abstracts should be submitted via the conference management
system ConfTool on the conference webpage: http://www.kogwis2010.de
Accepted abstracts will appear in the conference brochure. Authors
will be asked to use the standardised format for this, which can be
downloaded from http://www.kogwis2010.de

The deadline for submission of abstracts for talks, posters, and
symposia is April 30, 2010.

Decisions will be posted by May 31, 2010.

The requirement specifications for submissions have been updated. Please read them carefully.

The GK offers a Best Paper Award for the best publication whose first author is a junior scientist (up to post-doc for less than three years). Submitted papers should be peer-reviewed and published or accepted (date of publication after 6/2008) and relevant for Cognitive Sciences.

Papers should be submitted as PDF until April 1, 2010 to vs1@gk-ev.de.

The award winner will be asked to present his or her paper in a talk at KogWis2010.

Die Konferenz richtet sich an interdisziplinär arbeitende Forscherinnen und Forscher aus den Bereichen Neurowissenschaften (Mind & Brain), Künstliche Intelligenz, Kognitive Psychologie, Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion, Linguistik und Philosophie (Philosophy of Mind).

Beiträge aus diesen Bereichen können als Posterpräsentationen, als Vorträge oder als Symposien eingereicht werden. Abstracts für ein- oder zweistündige Symposia sollen neben der Zusammenfassung auch eine Liste der Sprecher und Sprecherinnen sowie des Moderators bzw. der Moderatorin enthalten. Erwünscht sind vor allem Symposien, die Vortragende aus verschiedenen Bereichen vereinen

Abstracts für Poster und Vorträge dürfen maximal 2.000 Zeichen (einschließlich Leerzeichen) umfassen; Abstracts für Symposia 6.000 Zeichen. Die Abstracts sind über das Konferenzmanagementsystem conftool auf der Tagungs-Webpage einzureichen: http://www.kogwis2010.de
