Zur Person
Nach dem Studium der Anglistik, Germanistik und Politikwissenschaft an der Carl von Ossietzky-Universität Oldenburg promovierte ich, unterstützt durch ein Stipendium der Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, 1998 mit einer Dissertation über Exilliteratur in Großbritannien 1933-1945. Im Anschluss war ich von 1998 bis 2001 als DAAD-Lektor an indischen Universitäten in Hyderabad und Delhi tätig, wo ich Literatur, Media Studies and European Studies unterrichtete. Während meiner hieran anschließenden Tätigkeit als Wissenschaftlicher Assistent an der Universität Magdeburg (2001 bis 2006) schloss ich meine Habilitation über englischsprachige indische Romane der Gegenwart ab. Bevor ich die Professur für Englische Literatur an der Universität Potsdam antrat, war ich von 2006 bis 2008 als Akademischer Rat an der Universität Tübingen für Postkoloniale Studien und Englische Literatur der Frühen Neuzeit zuständig.
